This is our band, rocking our hearts out in the winter of 2012. But the road to an album took some fascinating turns, including lots of gigging with great players like Chris McCartt, Jeremy Wineglass, Nate The Fish Olmos, Andrea Zermeno, Ro Meraz, Ashley Stanfield…. Here’s a BIO of part of Paula’s journey…

New Jersey native Paula Franceschi writes rock songs that view the passions and follies of youth with the wry tolerance of maturity. With the fierce individuality of a Patti Smith, Randy Newman or Leonard Cohen, married to the deep, authentic feeling of Otis Redding and Amy Winehouse, these eleven tracks introduce a new voice to female-fronted modern American rock.

Mining a deep cache of original songs that pay homage to genres from the 50’s to the present, her band has honed the arrangements in three years of gigging around Los Angeles. Rock, blues, pop, soul, and Phil Spector-style arrangements blend in a sound that is highly accessible, yet uniquely hers, featuring her solid and nuanced rhythm guitar playing, accomplished lyric-writing, strong story-telling, vivid character-sketches, and emotional, idiosyncratic singing style.

In addition to her regular band members, who include her son, Alex Stensel on lead guitar,(please check out “liner notes”), the album features notable guest performances by Mike Lang, Jerry Roe, David Bergeaud, and Howie Simon. In true Indie DIY fashion, the songs were first recorded at Paula’s in-house project studio by James Northcross. Referred by James Leach of SESAC to multi-Platinum producer/mixer David J. Holman at Cactus Studios, Hollywood, the substantially re-worked tracks took on a professional gloss that highlights their classic structure and lyrical ingenuity.

The album is available as a physical CD and as a digital download on itunes, Amazon etc…..
